Line of Effort 1 Capability Building

Autonomy and Unmanned Systems (UxS)

Building self-sustaining capabilities from aerial reconnaissance and strike drones to unmanned ground systems for logistics and frontline engineering.

Autonomy and Unmanned Systems

The Operational Challenge

The modern battlefield is saturated with a rapidly evolving array of unmanned technologies. However, procuring hardware is merely the first step. Without integrated combat engineering, adaptive tactical employment, and sustainable personnel preparation, deploying a “zoo of technologies” into a highly contested electronic warfare environment often results in advanced equipment becoming obsolete metal.

Building the Capability

Operating as a vendor-neutral capability builder, the Boryviter Centre of Excellence transforms raw autonomous technology into structured, combat-ready systems for the Defence Forces of Ukraine. We do not merely teach operation; we build the entire lifecycle of unmanned warfare, ensuring units can independently deploy, sustain, and adapt their systems on the zero line.

Core Domains of Expertise

Implementation across multidomain environments

1.1

UAS Operations

Tactical application of fixed-wing and multi-rotor platforms, encompassing reconnaissance and payload delivery, FPV strike and loitering munitions, and aerial interceptors.

1.2

UGS Operations

Operational deployment of ground robotics for combat engagements, high-risk frontline logistics, engineering and demining tasks, special-purpose missions, and training simulators.

1.3

UMS Operations

Tactical application and integration of advanced unmanned surface and subsurface vessels.

1.4

Unmanned Systems Engineering

Advanced frontline engineering, equipping personnel to independently modify hardware, integrate payloads, and perform field repairs directly at the line of contact.

Impact

Institutional Capability Handover

Institutional Capability Handover

Boryviter helps build internal training capacity directly within military structures rather than relying on long-term external support.

For a Ukrainian Army corps, our Subject-Matter Experts supported the development of a dedicated unmanned ground systems (UGS) training capability. We designed training programmes and instructional methodology, prepared the initial cadre of military instructors, and provided mentoring during the first training cycles. The objective is to enable the unit to independently sustain and further develop its own training capability.

Frontline Combat Engineering

Frontline Combat Engineering

Standard commercial and military drones require continuous battlefield adaptation.

We prepare specialised personnel for mobile frontline workshops, enabling combat units to bypass slow rear-echelon logistics and adapt frequencies and payloads in real time.
